  ECR HISPEED accelerates your Internet access through proprietary text and image compression, content caching, and other network optimizations.

• Will I benefit from using ECR HISPEED?
  

  If you have a slow Internet connection (such as dial-up or wireless connections) with bandwidth of less than 300Kbps, you will experience a significant degree of acceleration using ECR HISPEED.

• What types of content does ECR HISPEED speed up?
  

  ECR HISPEED will significantly speed up web page access. To achieve this speed up, proprietary compression is applied to text, html, xml, java script, and style sheets. Proprietary image compression is applied to all gif images, jpeg images, and Flash content. ECR HISPEED does NOT speed up file downloads (over FTP or file sharing programs), streaming audio/video and HTTPS (secure web sites).

• Does ECR HISPEED speed up my secure (HTTPS) transactions, such as my web banking?

  ECR HISPEED does NOT accelerate secure transactions. Secure web sites will continue to work, bypassing the acceleration component.

USING ECR HISPEED

• How do I start ECR HISPEED?

  After download you will be asked for your username "current one you use" with @ecr.net - Example: username@ecr.net

  Enter current password

  Once installed, ECR HISPEED is launched automatically every time Windows starts.

• How do I change the image quality setting for a particular image?

  Right-clicking on the image within Internet Explorer and selecting "Show Original Image" allows you to view the original images. Selecting "Show All Original Images" allows you to view all original images on the entire web page.

• How do I change the image quality setting for all images?

  Right-click on the ECR HISPEED task bar icon and select "Settings". Select the "Image Quality" tab. Adjust the slider bar to the desired image quality setting. Press "OK" to save the changes.

• How do I use Internet Explorer with ECR HISPEED?

  Internet Explorer is automatically configured to use ECR HISPEED.

  Use Internet Explorer as you normally would.

• How do I use other browsers with ECR HISPEED?

  Netscape Navigator is automatically configured to use ECR HISPEED. Use Netscape as you normally would. For other browsers such as Opera and Mozilla, ECR HISPEED works with any web browser that allows you to specify an HTTP proxy. You must set the HTTP proxy host to be "127.0.0.1" and the port number to be the local listening port of the ECR HISPEED Client (5400 by default). Consult your browser's documentation for information on how this can be done.
